The Michigan Bike Show 2012, was held at the Birch Run Expo Center, Birch Run, Michigan on January 20-22. The show having one hundred bikes in competition blazed through the cold weather and a storm threatening to delay participants. But, surprisingly showed no signs of any delays as builders/owners pushed through the weather and gathered together to make a great showing. Two halls filled with vendors and bikes. The IMBBA sanctioned the event with points going towards builders credits. The IMBBA held its usual Builders Workshop, where time is set aside to meet and greet the participants and work with them in improving their competition points and scoring, a trademark to IMBBA judging style and criteria. The awards, presented by Chad Dutmer's the Michigan Bike Show promoter for the event, were given out on Sunday. Including the "Best of Show" award going to Pro-Builder class winner, Reflection Customs. A fully decked out Touring Custom with visual effects and a highly technical sound system.
Competition was extremely tight in the Touring Customs as well among the Pro-builders.
Attending the bike show was Stevenson Cycles, IMBBA Certified Master Bike Builder, Steven Broyles who offered a great deal of support and attention bringing with him one of his outstanding builds!
In addition, Doug Hall from the Chopper Institute of America was displaying the education and training that goes into IMBBA certification and available to the public knowledge in bike repairing and building. while displaying the progress of the High School Chopper building programs.
Chad Dutmer's determination and attention to detail in organizing the Michigan Motorcycle Show was well received by participants, Riders, spectators, Vendors and IMBBA. Great Job, Great Show!
